NUTRITION AND THE SCIENCE OF FOOD (25 HOURS)
    This class is designed to train the therapist further in the ways in which the body uses food and how the body breaks down foods
    for better nutrition.  This class will help the therapist evaluate his/her eating habits and lifestyle habits to achieve optimum health
    and maintain the therapists best performance.

POLARITY I (20 HOURS)*
This course could have additional costs associated with the class.
    This class provides a general overview of the theory and basic principles of polarity therapy.  The three primary principles of
    motion: positive, negative, and neutral are introduced in relationship to the human energy field and health.  Learn to “tune in” to
    these energetic expressions and enhance energy flow within the body.  The unblocked flow of energy can ease pain, increase
    mental clarity, balance emotional expression, and is key to an overall sense of well being.  A thorough application for balancing
    energy in the body, known as the “general session”, will be taught.

POLARITY II (40 HOURS) *
PREREQUISITE:  POLARITY I
This course could have additional costs associated with the class.
    This class deals with Polarity and the elements including the study of how the chakras and energy body are formed, refining
    bodywork techniques using the “five element theory”, and nutritional techniques to support the flow of Life Energy through the
    body.

POLARITY III (Communication) (40 HOURS)*
PREREQUISITE:  POLARITY I & II
This course could have additional costs associated with the class.
    This class deals with the Polarity process and communication including teaching the therapist to effectively communicate with a
    client, techniques for observing and bringing awareness to a client’s experience, and deepening the art of Polarity by creating a
    safe, neutral space for healing.

POLARITY IV (Evaluation/Clinic) (40 HOURS)*
PREREQUISITE:  POLARITY I, II & III
This course could have additional costs associated with the class.
    This class deals with the evaluation and clinical experience regarding Polarity such as how to establish a successful practice,
    the correct methods of history taking, evaluating a client, and session strategies, and improving experiential knowledge under
    direct clinical supervision

PREGNANCY AND INFANT I (25 HOURS)
MATERIALS FEE $30.00, PAID TO THE INSTRUCTOR
    This class provides a beginning understanding of all aspects of pregnancy, labor and infant massage.  The course will also
    cover how to get into the pregnancy massage business by using marketing ideas such as business cards and brochures.

PREGNANCY AND INFANT II (25 HOURS)
PREREQUISITE:  PREGNANCY AND INFANT MASSAGE I
MATERIALS FEE $30.00 - PAID TO THE INSTRUCTOR
    This class will provide the student a more in depth study into pregnancy massage, and how to incorporate it into the actual labor
    to help the mother-to-be better adapt to the events happening and aid in the actual birthing process.  This course will introduce
    more techniques to be used in infant massage for the therapist and to be shown to the parents to aid in the bonding between
    child and parents. With this class there will be internship/externship hours that will be required for completion of this course and
    certification.  These will be arranged with the instructor on the first night of class.

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY (25 HOURS)
    Working with the feet using special pressure points and techniques, correlate to various organs and zones of the body.  Relieve
    stress and tension in the body and learn how to market your reflexology skills in the massage field.

HAND REFLEXOLOGY (25 HOURS)
    Within this class we will study the ancient art of zone therapy and its correlation with the organs and systems of the body on the
    hands. This study is to educate the student in the healing that can occur on the hands to help the client and to complete the
    relaxation of the client.  We will also train the therapist to aid the healing in specific ailments as well as a complete wellness of
    body, mind and soul.

REIKI I (25 HOURS)
    Many traditions of natural medicine extend back over several centuries, with an impressive accumulation of practical knowledge.
    Within this class we focus on different methods for maintaining the therapist’s optimum health and body awareness. We cover
    yoga, tai chi, meditation, massage, NLP/hypnotherapy, chakra balancing and working naturally to heal different ailments that may
    occur in a therapist’s life.

REIKI II (25 HOURS)
PREREQUISITE:  REIKI I
    Many traditions of natural medicine extend back over several centuries, with an impressive accumulation of practical knowledge.
    Within this class we focus on different methods for maintaining the therapist’s optimum health and body awareness. We cover
    yoga, tai chi, meditation, massage, NLP/hypnotherapy, chakra balancing and working naturally to heal different ailments that may
    occur in a therapist’s life.

REIKI III (25 HOURS)
PREREQUISITE:  REIKI II
    Many traditions of natural medicine extend back over several centuries, with an impressive accumulation of practical knowledge.
    Within this class we focus on different methods for maintaining the therapist’s optimum health and body awareness. We cover
    yoga, tai chi, meditation, massage, NLP/hypnotherapy, chakra balancing and working naturally to heal different ailments that may
    occur in a therapist’s life.

SELF CARE FOR THE MASSAGE THERAPIST (50 HOURS)*

    Many traditions of natural medicine extend back over several centuries, with an impressive accumulation of practical knowledge.
    Within this class we focus on different methods for maintaining the therapist’s optimum health and body awareness. We cover
    several methods of meditation and relaxation, nutrition and working naturally to heal different ailments that may occur with
    therapists' lives.  Body mechanics are stressed and reviewed for several types of modalities.

SHIATSU (100 HOURS)
TEXTBOOK: The Web That Has No Weaver - by KAPTCHUK, T.
This course could have additional costs associated with the class.
    Students will learn to apply pressure with thumbs and palms to specific acupuncture points on the 12 meridians and two
    vessels of the body.  Basic theory of shiatsu, oriental diagnosis, yin-yang and the five elements theories will be discussed.   At
    the completion of these hands-on elective, students will be able to complete a full body shiatsu treatment using proper body
    mechanics, as well as know the benefits and contraindications of shiatsu and have a good foundation for advanced shiatsu
    course work.

SPA SERVICES I (25 HOURS)
    Learn about body wraps, exfoliation (salt glows and scrubs), mudpacks, cellulite massage and more.  These services work very
    well in conjunction with massage therapy in a spa environment.  An additional lab fee will be announced at time of class.

SPA SERVICES II (25 HOURS)
PREREQUISITE:  SPA SERVICES I
    Within this class we will take the treatments that the therapist learned in the previous class and expand upon this knowledge,
    with new approaches to facial lifting without plastic surgery, how to bring about the clients radiance without the use of heavy
    chemical peels and heavy duty products.  This class will bring the therapist the understanding of incorporating natural elements
    into their massage practice.

SPORTS AND MEDICAL MASSAGE (100 HOURS)
    This course is part 4 of our Massage Practitioner program (600 Hours) and covers a wide range of massage techniques.  This
    class is excellent for Continuing Education, or as a stand alone class.  The class includes detailed assessment information,
    precautionary tests, Pre/Post-Event Sports Massage, Training and Curative Massage and Oncology Massage.  Students learn
    everything from the subtly of touch to deep tissue techniques.  This is a must for anyone planning to pass the Nationals.
    Note:  Students registering for this class will also be scheduled in the "Student Clinic."

THAI MASSAGE (50 HOURS)
    Nuad bo’rarn, (means ancient or sacred teachings handed from generation to generation) is a branch of Thai manual medicine
    or massage.  Thai bodywork is a complex form of soft tissue manipulation that involves stretching, pressing, twisting and joint
    manipulation to harmonize the body, mind and spirit.

THAI MASSAGE II (50 HOURS)
PREREQUISITE:  THAI MASSAGE I

    or massage.  Thai bodywork is a complex form of soft tissue manipulation that involves stretching, pressing, twisting and joint
    manipulation to harmonize the body, mind and spirit.

TUI NA (50 HOURS)
    Tui na is a bodywork therapy that was developed in China over 2,000 years ago. It works with the energy system in the body
    known as the meridian system.  Like Acupressure, Tui na works with the chi energy of the patient to bring a balanced state of
    health. The work is done entirely with the practitioner's hands to help increase the beneficial flow of chi through the client's
    meridian system.
