Mike is a Holistic Health Practitioner with a B.M. and M.M. in Instrumental Education from Western Washington University and is a graduate of both The Academy of Professional Careers and CalCopa. Possessing a varied career, Mike taught instrumental music in the public schools of Washington State for six years, is a retired U.S. Marine with over 30 years of service as a musician and conductor and has been a Licensed Massage Therapist in both Georgia and California. Of note, Mike volunteered his skills as a massage therapist while deployed to Ar-Ramadi, Iraq in 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Mike entered the field of massage therapy after suffering the debilitating effects of Sciatica and Piriformis Syndrome. Through a skilled massage therapist, he discovered the curative benefits of deep tissue massage and stretching and felt the need to learn these skills to help others in need. Although currently retired from the Marine Corps, Mike finds great satisfaction providing massage therapy for clients in need through a variety of modalities, as well as helping massage students through individual tutoring and class instruction with a goal of giving back to the massage industry. Additionally, Mike keeps busy in his spare time working with his dog in agility training and continuing his musical pursuits on the saxophone. Active in the Orange County Ford Model A Club, he also enjoys both working on and driving his 1928 Ford Model A.
